Just a few years back, the idea of a printed plastic card for identification purposes was not even in the thought process. Very few organizations had the funds for an identification card system. Those who believed in the importance of identification for employees, students and other related people did not think any further than the standard cut and paste system where one printed information, a logo and picture on a small paper. The desired badge was then placed inside of a laminating pouch and placed in a laminator for sealed protection. Even state issued driver’s licenses and photo identification cards were made out of a laminate type system.
